New from Justin Maller...and I love it.

Inspirations for my new apartment

Well I have been pulling my hair out on my move to my apartment it's smaller than I'm used to, but the floor plan is open and cute. I wanted to have a very contemporary and artsy feel. I have been looking for space saving furniture that's unique. I ran into the following and thought I'd share. Also this book was recently released and has some great idea for saving space with modern design.

I know you're thinking how does this inspire me...well I look at it as art and would like to see something like this on the wall somewhere in my apartment...I may even make it myself to save money.

This is a cool rocking chair.

I want this in a dark color...great space saver.

I have stepped my reading back up so I need a place to put my books. Love this!

inspired by this whole look

I want this bad!

I like the art and the wall shelf

Chair designed by AntiDiva

I don't care for the print but I love the color.

I hate the color but lover the bench thing

this is desperate for space but still cool....

Urban Spring 2010 - Good N Evil

So I received an email right before I boarded my plane back home from NY (I'm will post about that trip.....don't kill me! lol) I was really feeling the shirt above. Some how I got throwed off and the email got lost in the shuffle, so here it is Good N Evil. Read the summarized description...which I think is awesome.

Good N Evil is a cinematic representation of character based art;
however, it extends far beyond the reach of apparel to form a truly
modern brand via comic books, figurines, backpacks, shoes, webisodes,
and any other products or means of marketing that will expand and
solidify this highly innovative brand. This is an underworld of high
fashion. Good N Evil is an accessible concept supported by unrivaled
artistic craftsmanship.

Stimulate Your Mind-Photography Art Marc Da Cunha Lopes ‘SKLT’ Photo Series

Marc Da Cunha Lopes is a Paris photographer that is known for his photo manipulation. This 'SKLT' series is his latest work. Its a lot calm then what I am used to seeing from him, but it's still very interesting to me. I found myself looking at this (image above) for a long time. I'm not sure what I felt exactly, I do feel a eerie certain way when I look at them. Some of his work I viewed does come off a little demonic and you will find Occult symbolism. (Yikes!) Overall I think he's amazing. How do they make you feel?

Check out his work here ....yea beware some his work may come off as offensive and disturbing.

Do you know where your music comes from?

These days almost every song includes a sample. I'm not opposed to sampling especially when the song is a hit. Here are a few songs and the original songs they were sampled from.

Jay Z: Empire State of Mind

Here is the original The Moments: Love On A Two Way Street

Another sample used for Empire State OF Mind Issac Hayes: The Breakthrough

Kanye West: Champion

Original Steely Dan: Kid Charlemagne

Kanye West: Good Life

Michael Jackson: PYT

Mya: The Man In My Life (This is kind of a cover/sample)

LL Cool J: Hey Lover

The Original Michael Jackson: Lady In My Life

I will be posting more of these...

Janelle Monae New Music - Tightrope (Feat. Bi Boi) & Cold War

Janelle Monae has released two new singles called Tightrope and Cold War from her anticipated album Metropolis Suites II & III: The Arch Android. I listened to tightrope and I honestly feel that its one of those songs I have to listen to five times then it will become my favorite song. It's a great dance track. I personally love the end of the song. The instruments sound so good with the scratching. She mixes retro and modern well.

Cold War is my favorite so far. I love the melody. When I listen to this track I instantly can relate to fighting in a Cold War. I relate it to grinding. Also as I listened to this song I couldn't help but to think of Gnarls Barkley's Song Going On. I have added the video for this song as well check it out and you decide for yourself.
